Seems like every day is laundry day. Something gets dirty, gets washed, gets put away (eventually). The most challenging thing to put away is fitted sheets. Well, the folding part. I’m happy to announce that I’ve figured it out. They are still lumpy and misshapen, but they are “folded” when they go in the linen closet.

It’s all a matter of corners. Once all the corners are seams in, pick one. Then the nearest corner gets turned out and tucked into the seams in corner. Do the same with the other two corners and tuck those into the first two. Okay, so it’s easier to do than describe.

It’s really easy to unfold a fitted sheet. Whip it around over the bed and all the corners fly out. Scoop them under the bed corners and bed is made!

So it is with life.

We are meant to be unfolded. We are meant to wrap around our journey and support and caress our heart’s desires.

Yet, we bunch ourselves all up. We get frustrated when our corners just doing fit expectations – our expectations or other’s expectations for us.

So, it’s time to stop folding in on ourselves and open up.

Did you know that a butterfly exits its chrysalis with its wings folded? When it feels it’s safe . . . after it has rested from its birthing ordeal, it pumps blood into the wings and the wings unfold.

Don’t feel like you can fly yet? Perhaps you’re still in the process of transformation. Perhaps you are resting after a struggle. Perhaps you don’t feel safe. Perhaps you don’t have a dream big enough to get your blood pumping. Or perhaps you doubt your worth and try to cram yourself into what you think others would prefer you to do or be.

Yet, unfoldment is the most natural thing for you!

Unfoldment is what you came here to do!

The butterfly know how to fly when it emerges. You, too, don’t have to know how it’s all supposed to work or what it looks like. You don’t have to have the answers.

Everything you put your attention upon brings you into clearer awareness of your unfolding. Every experience brought into your existence brings to you an opportunity to grow, change, emerge and unfold yet again in a new way.

We think we have to be perfect or we won’t be accepted. We think we have to make others happy or we won’t be okay. Being good at something is a blessing. Being kind is a blessing. Neither are soul obligations to make you okay. If you choose to find something to excel at, way-

cool! Do that! We could use more excellence in the world today! If you choose to be kind, awesome! Do that! We certainly could do with more kindness in the world today!

Whatever you choose to do, unfold in the doing. Open up to yourself in every choice you make and every action you take.

We would benefit with more unfoldment in the world today!
